Our history

History

The association HUBI was founded in September 2016 by a group of four young people united in the view to promoting the culture of welcome through education and training, especially for unaccompanied foreign minors (UFM). The emphasis of our work is laid on the principle of promoting human life as underlined in Article 1 of the German constitution which is all about the sacred value of human dignity. To achieve this, the association facilitates the coverage of some costs, such as language training fees through voluntary work, but also encourages the German federal government to take better account of the fate of these young migrants who survived horrific events back in their countries of origin. Therefore, HUBI means to offer them language courses and help them later join training programs in German vocational schools, so as they may enjoy a decent and peaceful life. In addition to the courses, the association develops awareness-raising campaigns, exchange programs, and thus facilitates the unaccompanied minors a smooth integration in their new host country.
