Since each of our last review, Avast offers produced some stable improvements. The apps will be more consumer-friendly and now support a variety of protocols including OpenVPN, the industry-standard ; the new beta Mimic process to circumvent VPN diagnosis and receive you linked in VPN-unfriendly locations ; and a kill switch that automatically disconnects your gadget if your connection drops. In addition, it updates their warrant canary tri-monthly to warn users of any gag orders (though we’ve observed it’s not necessarily on top of modernizing, which is a bit of worrying).

The Windows and Android software take up a bit more screen real estate than some of the competition, but they have a clean style that’s user friendly, familiar out of Avast’s anti-virus software.
